Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King was an American Baptist minister and social activist from the mid-1950s until 1968. He fought for racial equality and human rights for African Americans through peaceful protest. The protests led to several laws prohibiting racial discrimination, and he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

When he was five, his father travelled to Germany and was inspired by the Protestant Reformation leader, Martin Luther. So he changed his name and his son's name as well.

He went to jail 29 times for acts of civil disobedience and on trumped-up charges.

A woman stabbed him in the chest. By a miracle he survived.
